Branch chipping

Your branches come back as mulch, not as a trip to the tip.

A pile of branches takes up room, dries badly, and usually ends up burnt — which is illegal, and a waste anyway.

Chipped, that same pile becomes a resource. Ramial chipped wood — chip from fresh branches — is one of the best mulches there is: it holds moisture at the foot of your beds, it smothers weeds, and it feeds the soil as it breaks down.

Fabien chips on site, at the end of a job or as a visit of its own. You keep the chip, or it goes away: your call.

What can be chipped

Branches and pruning arisings, up to a sensible diameter. Beyond that, the wood goes to the splitter rather than the chipper — that's heating, not waste.

What you do with it

Mulch for beds and the vegetable garden, garden paths, or compost. One tip: let fresh chip settle for a few weeks before spreading it around young plantings.

Frequently asked questions

About: Branch chipping

Is chipping included in a pruning job?

It's priced separately and stated clearly on the quote. You can also keep the branches: some people want them for their own chipper or their fireplace.

Can I just burn the branches instead?

Burning green waste in the open is prohibited for households in France, with rare local exemptions. Chipping is the legal answer — and the more useful one.
